Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Seekers and Planners groups.
