The President Welcomes Relatives of Attacked Military Members to the White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Community members gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Measures and Policy Adjustments

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The event led the administration to pause asylum processing and halt granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she planned to speak to the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
