Two Victims Revealed in the Providence Campus Shooting as Law Enforcement Continue Hunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who lost their lives in the weekend's tragic incident in Providence were being remembered Monday – as a manhunt for their shooter carried on following the release by Rhode Island officials of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, as stated by the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

She served as vice-president of Brown’s chapter of the campus GOP group, as the club stated. The White House press secretary also shared sympathies online, stating: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”

An International Student

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his initial year at the prestigious university, according to relatives.

His name was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and helping people,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were hurt in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Officials stated late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a raid at a hotel about around 27 kilometers from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.
