Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have begun production, with an additional eleven preparing to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Battlefield Situations

The drones utilize a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Described as Deliberate

Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” after six people were killed and dozens wounded in a wave of night-time strikes across Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv shortly after 12 AM on Friday, with enemy UAVs quickly detected overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.

Zelenskyy reported the country was hit by 430 drones and 18 missiles. Those killed were inside their residences in a block of flats on the capital's left bank during the strike. Numerous of additional structures sustained damage, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Objection Following Embassy Destruction

The number two energy company Lukoil said this past Friday it is negotiating with interested parties regarding its foreign assets following recent restrictions from Western nations and the collapse of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “The specific deal are to be disclosed after the final agreements are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals are secured,” Lukoil commented.

Zelenskyy Schedules Visit to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with lawmakers following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from both chambers of parliament during his visit, the Spanish statement confirmed.
